Don't look down!

As a 'hub' for flights to / from Australia (as well as an emerging global superpower in its own right) Singapore plays host to more than its fair share of tourist.  As the jumping off point to the exotic locales Southeast Asia has to offer, many find taking a few days to acclimate themselves a worthwhile endeavour.  And Singapore has a tremendous number of great things to do.  So I encourage you to come here.

But that's not really what this post is about.  It's actually about helping you in your packing decisions.  As I tend to walk just about everywhere, I come across these transit beings on a regular basis.  I'd like to focus on a particular demographic -- males, aged 20 - 103, travelling with or without companion, 'I remembered to pack my short trousers, short sleeved shirt (Hawaiian print optional as we're not, as you guessed, in Hawaii), my hat.

What I continue to be amazed at is how many of the individuals on this list forget to pack one or more of the following:

1) Light coloured (read WHITE) sport SOCKS for pairing with a nice pair of SNEAKERS (runners, tennis shoes, whatever you call them) or
2) Sandals appropriate to the weather and the outfits

Of course, Item 2) should NEVER be paired with Item 1).  NEVER. EVER.

NEVER, EVER, should you think you're going to get away with your black dress socks and your work shoes! NEVER, EVER.  UH, UH.  NO.

At the distinct risk of resorting to mass generalisation or stereotyping, I will assert that the great majority of the 'Ped Abusers' are, in fact, from the UK.

So maybe I should post this on the Daily Telegraph?
